They're pretty difficult to do, and I've only tried a couple of times
without luck. Cuttings are *much* easier to work with. But... From
the July, 1998 Plant of the Month page at

"If grown from seed, cold stratification at 40F for 90 to 120
days to prepare the seedcoat for emergence."
I think the propagation info was taken directly from Dirr.
