Hardening off

My garden is on the East End of Long Island where I spend weekends only.  I
start seeds in my apartment in NY city and have not been able to figure out
how to harden off my seedlings prior to planting them in the ground.  My
windows all face north, so there is no direct sunlight.

Any suggestions?
