Hmmm...well, the point of the sharp sand is so that it drains fast and
doesn't form a crust. Personally, I prefer granite grit. But, as for your
colored sand, think it would depend on what makes it colored. Does the
color wash off in water? Is this sand coarse grained or very fine? You
don't want very fine.
It's probably OK to use...might want to wash it with hot water a few
times, just to make sure it's a clean as it can get....I'm rather guessing
here, not being able to see the actual sand ;-)
