Re: Delphinium germination

Hummmm

I too have delphinium seeds, from an exchange a couple of years ago,
stored in the freezer till this spring! Four different packages!

I got TREMENDOUS germination and I'm wondering what to do with then now.
I'm intimidated by delphinium!

In early March, I put the seed in a flat metal recycled container from
the grocery store, in moist promix, and covered them with fine
vermiculite, as I do with all seeds. Then, I put the container in a
plastic bag with the slider and sealed it. Germination was rapid. I took
the container out of the bag a couple of weeks ago and they are still
under lights in the basement.

No extra heat, no fungicide, not especially sterile ....

I'm trying to find the time to get to the farmers' supply store for some
trays! But I'll water with a very weak fertilizer (Peter's with minors)
today, or so.
