Re: Sedum 'Autumn Joy'

Rick,
Stem cuttings usually done, 1-4 inches long, from early summer till early
fall, no hormone needed, bottom heat will speed things up but not
necessary, well drained medium a must, won't hurt to let them dry for a few
hours before sticking, light shade till rooted. Easy to do!

Leaf-bud should work...not tired it myself. I would do a few to see if it
works with most of your cuttings being stem as these definitely work. Leaf
cuttings have not worked for me with Sedums.

BTW, letting a cutting dry slightly to form a "skin" is called
suberizing...like what one does to potato tubers when cut up to make "seed
potatoes". Callusing is when you stick a cutting in a moist environment
(warm or cold) and a callus forms...the lump of undifferentiated cells
that first forms at the bottom of some cuttings prior to root initials
forming. Not always present in noticeable amounts with some species.

Have fun,
Scott
