Lainey, Last Feb I was visiting a couple that just finished building a house in Puerto Rico and many plants were pointed out as being papaya from the seed the workers threw out when finishing their lunch. Some were about 3 feet tall and weren't even a year old. One was even growing under the steps in total shade. I know these seeds didn't have any special treatment. Jackie
