Re: Help with cuttings


I know a nurseryman who claims he takes cuttings from persimmon, but he must
have a special method - the only way I've ever done it is by grafting to
seedlings.  If the tree is on it's own roots, you can also take suckers. 
Suckers are the easiest method of propagation for Syringa for a home grower,
seeds for
Robinia (though a mature tree of it usually has a good number of suckers if
you want to dig them).  I've never personally tried tree peonies, but every
named variety is always grafted.
