Hi Nan,
I am in Central Florida, zone 9b, and I usually plant my Cleome right about
now for bloom in early spring. Cleome is very easy to grow here, I typically
start the seed in containers in full sun in a potting mix of peat,
vermiculite and perlite. Transplant when the second pair of leaves emerges.
Plants grow well in full sun or part shade, fertilize with a balanced time
release product and water normally. Cleome will self sow, almost to the
point of being weeds, with minimal care.
Good luck,
Lauren Sill
