Good Day, Tim --
Here is an excerpt that I saved.
It does work.
I put mine in the basement under fluorescent lights on a timer.
Best Wishes --

Come October, put it in complete darkness for 14 to 15 hours each night. But
bring it back into the sunlight during the day. After a month or so, the
bracts will begin to color up. Continue the pattern of darkness and light
until the middle of December, when the bracts should be fully colored. Then
you can bring the poinsettia back into the light full-time.
