A friend gave me a few hyacinths beans last year and I planted them and now have a huge amount of purple flowers and beans. How do I go about drying these. Something has also been chewing into the beans. I have a lot of hummingbirds and butterflies frequenting them so I can't really poison them. I have so many that I think the bugs will be full of them and I will still have ample seeds to dry. I have opened up some of the chewed pods that looked mature, but the beans inside are still not seed dry. They are green and have the white streak but not dry. Do I leave them in the pod on the fence until they dry? Do I bring them into the dry garage when the vine dies? I have never dried anything so big and fleshy before. HELP! Windy
