fresh seeds

I have gathered seeds from belamcanda, aka blackberry lilly. Seeds are
shiny and hard.  May I plant them now, or do they have to "age" for a while
?  Also, I'm keeping ugly brown seed-stalks of verbascum chiaxi in the
garden, because I'm not sure if the seeds are fully ripe.  The "husks"
around each seed pod are brown and dry, but there seems to be moisture
still in the pods.  May I pick these stalks and allow them to dry in the
garage ?
