Re: Phaseolus


My books have not yeilded much additional information except that the
"proper" name of the Snail bean is Vigna caracala. It is tropical, grows to
20', needs minimum temperature to over winter of 50 degrees F. , can be
grown as an annual, cultivation is "in growing season, water freely and
apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly". So my bet is that you may have
over-fertilzed it, or possibly started it too late for it to bloom before
cold weather arrives. (My seed staring book says it should be started  4 -6
weeks before last frost date)
