Clematis in Shade?

Good Day to you all --
I have been wanting to grow Clematis but I have very little sun in my yard
anymore. Al of those little trees that I planted 30 years ago and prayed for
shade have now matured and I am still not happy. :-)
Most of the places I want to plant clematis are bright, light to med. shade.
I want to put them mostly on the North and east sides of the house. Most of
these places do not get any direct sun during the day. The areas are along
the house or a fence and my house, the house next door or a nearby tree
prevents the sun from reaching them.

Do any of you have experience growing Clematis under similar circumstances?
Am I right in assuming they will still bloom but not as much as if they were
in the sun? At least, that is what I am hoping? Are there any cultivars that
will do better than others; especially one that bloom all summer?

Thanks again for your help.
Best Wishes, Barbara
