Barbara, I have a clematis growing in the space between my driveway and the
house on the North side.  It is in total shade and has very little moisture
as the rain does not blow in that direction and I am not inclined to water
that area.  I does very well.

I did not plant it so I do not know what variety it is, but it is a dusty
pink in color.
