Have had this shrub for many moons.Mine is the five-leafed aralia
(sieboldianus). It is thorny, the flowers (which are insignifigant) stink.
Very prickly. Nothing bothers it. Does well in shade. Never needs pruning and
is about 5 plus feet in height. No great prize, but needs no care. It was here
when house acquired. Would make a hedge no one would try to penetrate.
