Last fall I cut about 2 miles of trails through the woods. They are
about 8 feet wide. All the work is done by hand using only a lawn
tractor and cart to haul things around. All the trials have been
cleared of trees and I'm now in the process of removeing the stumps
with shovel and axe. We'll be planting shade plants along the trails
once the hard work is done and I know what I want to plant.

Hi Bill!
Welcome to a great group.
Keep us apprised of what you plant along the trails. Are you thinking of using
ferns? Sounds like a perfect spot for some.
What kind of trees are in that area? I have found that Cornus mas is a great
one to include, underplanted in a situation like yours.
Once again, Welcome!
