Dear Forrest,
I am in the Peoria area and have a magnolia called Elizabeth that is blooming
right now. It is gorgeous with big flowers of a clear yellow. I don't know
if that could be it or not.

The most intriguing one, however, has large YELLOW flowers shaped
like the large common Magnolias (not the ones grown down South.) We
live in Davenport, Iowa. I have never seen a Magnolia with yellow
blossoms. So far I've not found anything in the books I've read about
a yellow flowering Magnolia either.
