Hi Suzy,
This is Elaine from England.
We have ferns in our garden. When they make new side plants we split
them. It's best done in Autumn (Fall), but we have split them in the
Spring and have had no problems.
The weather here has been very unusual - an extremely mild winter
(hardly any frosts) and the wettest April on record!
I assume you are from America - whereabouts?
