Re: [SG] What is a "SCABIOSA" -- can anyone help?
Scabiosa caucasica, pincushion flower, is a perennial that is 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 ft. high. Depending on the selection, the flowers may be blue to bluish lavender to white. It takes full sun to part shade. It probably is so popular because it has a long blooming season. I planted this in my shade garden last September and it
was blooming then and it is blooming now. The texture of the leaves are very nice and the flower would probably make a good cut flower.
