Re: slugs and grit
Well, it doesn't deter them much around here. I was camping in
Oregon where there was a large area of sharp crushed rocks around
each water tap. I would not have wanted to walk there in my bare
feet, but the slugs had learned that there was an oasis way across
that rocky desert, and they slimed over to it.
I can remember a picture, I believe in Life magazine, perhaps in the
early 1950s. It showed a slug making its way over the sharp edge of
a carving knife. Whatever was on the other side must have been very
enticing.
