Hello Jim,
You may want to check out an article on Gentiana in The American
Gardener this month. Covers summer and fall blooming species and hybrids
grown in Indiana... I even have a couple of my photos included. There are
also spring blooming gentians to look into. My specialty is shade, so
naturally my article was about gentians that would do well in shade. Quite a
few species will do well as you move them into sun if you provide the
additional moisture short of a bog condition. There are quite a few species
that grow in meadows in seepage areas.
There is no shortage of gentaina for just about any niche you have for
them.
