Re: [SG] Hydrangea Care


Joe, remember the old saying--"the first year they sleep, the second year
they creep, the third year they leap." This is even more true for shrubs.
Remember, it is not an annual, but something that will be in your garden
for decades, maybe forever!

The plant is establishing its root system. Just leave it be, except for
watering it. Most definitely do NOT bring it indoors for the winter! Next
year you should see some new growth and the year after you should be
pleased.

It would be helpful if you could give us the species name and the cultivar
if applicable, so that we can be more "specific"--no pun intended. But any
hydrangea should do fine for you in your zone.
