Hi Pottsey
I sometimes collect seeds and put them in a paper bag for the winter.
I do this when I feel like it, or think of it, long after the flower
season. In MASS sometime in Oct or Nov. The purple coneflowers here
just self seed in the garden as do the black eyed susan- wild ones
and the crosses of autumn toned and double ones. The shasta hybrids
that I grow do not self seed, nor do the blanket flowers, I divide
them for increase.
