Have tried them and hope my experience is NOT typical. Mine rotted the
second year and never came back up, but it was a very wet winter/spring.
OTOH, I have had Apeldoorn tulips ("Golden Apeldoorn", "Red Apeldoorn",
"Beauty of Apeldoorn"; blooms about the first of April here) come back
nicely for 5 years and more.
