One hosta in particular has caught my eye. A double flowered sport of the
fragrant August Lily called 'Aphrodite' has been a plant many growers hope to
obtain and bloom. Problem is, "Growers like me can't get this plant to
bloom!!!!"
anyone grow this plant that can give us tips on how to make this variety
bloom??? >>

I have found that the H. plantaginea forms, varieties, hybrids, sports, etc.,
do best with benign neglect. Someone gave me a division of Venus two years
ago; it was a small division. I never fertilized it; rarely watered it; and
treated it as I did all of the sort. Now it is in bloom. I would rather have a
really nice fall anenome instead. I cannot understand the vogue fascination
with hosta blooms.
The "best" hosta blooms are found on scapes that are grotesquely in proportion
with and to the plant---in my experience.
Wanna trade Riz?
BTW, your posting was great---poetic, if you will. TY!
