Re: Clematis

Hi Joe, I am far from an expert on clematis as I have failed with them
more often than not. However, having seen them growing in England, where
they thrive, gives me the impression that they prefer mild climates, and
cool summers in particular. There may be some cultivars that tolerate hot
summers better than others; my advice would be to find out the names of
any you see doing well in your area--and grow those!
