I never grew that plant being scared off by every book I ever read that
mentioned it. However I would like contribute this: houttunyia can be grown
in a big pot in the water. You can put it in a pond in a container which
admits water and it will make a lush mound of foliage where it cannot get
away. You can buy a new one each year as it is now sold in the Home Depot
for around $2.00.
