Re: Clintonia uniflora (correction)


Correction:

I erred, the proper name is Clintonia uniflora (not uniforma).  I saw these
growing wild in the Boundary Waters area of northern Minnesota, and other
Internet sources list it as growing in Alaska.  What attracted me is the
brilliant blue "berry" that forms after the flower -- hence the name Blue
Bead lily.  It is the most intense blue that I've seen in nature.  As far
as I've been able to determine, however, it's not in cultivation.
