Re: deep shade evergreens (Harry Abel)

Harry,

I bet the gentleman you are talking about is Arthur Reade(sp.) and the name
of the business is the Azalea Patch. They have great hostas at very good
prices. Their nursery is located is an old sand quarry. Arthur is a good
friend of Alex Summers' and comes to visit and swap hostas often.

hello shadies
while at hostas in focus, i met an older gentleman, who was telling me the
wonders of boxwood varieties in shade. i named all the dwarf cultivars i
was
familiar with thru bonsai, wintergreen, kingsville, morris' midget, etc, and
he assured me they all did wonderfully there in shade., as well as the full
sized boxes, english, american, and korean.

while not remembering this gentlemans name, of course, i do remember him
being in business with his daughter and son in law, somewhere in the
"greater" dc area.
perhaps kevin waleck might help on this person id.
