Re: deep shade evergreens
In KS, 5b, generally unfriendly to broad leaved evergreens, I grew 'Green
Mountain' and "Green Velvet' without any protection. The plants made it
through the winters very well. During the summer they needed to be shaded
from the hot afternoon sun. Here in Cleveland, 6a, I have seen old
boxwoods, don't know what kinds, but they seem to thrive here.
BTW, my H. foetidus has buds on it.
