Well, Walter, while I am not in favor of proven invasive noxious
weeds, I wonder about the current trend of labeling any plant that is
not indigenous to the US as suspect and worry about the outcome of
policies that prohibit plants with no actual proof that they are, in
fact, dangerously invasive throughout the country (which, BTW, few
plants actually are...true invasiveness seems to be rather tied to
localities).
In the course of research into this issue, I found these two
articles, which I posted to Perennials the other night (apologies for
the repetition to those of you on both lists).
They are both long articles, but I found them quite interesting,
perhaps you may also. If you care to read them, I would be
interested in whether or not they alter your opinion in any way.
