Virginia and Brian,
I have three cham. 'Boulevard' and have grown them for about 4 or so years.
The deer "customized" two of them, but they are starting to look okay again
(I did some shaping this fall). They will do well in less light than you
usually think of for conifers. Not fussy about soil, as long as it's not too
wet. Mine are growing in about 1/2 day light, not out in the open, but sort
of dappled with some afternoon direct sun. Hope this helps.
