I have had a Lawsons Cham. at the gardens for many years. It is growing in
zone 6 there. It is , however on the south side of the old farm house, and
in a fully exposed location. It has seen some temps atound - 13 degrees F.
and has never shown any damage. It is NOT tolerant of any shade. In the
thirty five + years it has been there it has become about 22 feet tall. It
is a very beautiful blue conifer and well worth growing.
Wishing you and all a Happy New Year.
Ran

Subject: [SG] Conifers
Hi All,
I have a question about some conifers. I got them for next to nothing,
but would like very much for them to survive. The conifers in question are
Chamaecyparis lawsonii "Elwoodii', Cham. law. 'Snow White' and Boulevard
cypress. We live in zone 5 about 40 miles south of Chicago. How and where
do I plant them for the best results?
Thanks in advance.
