Re: [PRIMROSES] Primrose 'Gold Laced'

It would be nice if people that are growing Gold Laced Polyanthus would
hand pollinate the better examples. There were in the old days many named
cultivars that are no longer available. Since they are gone and there seems
to be much interest in them and they do make great potted plants, it would
be nice if some of the more addicted saw fit to replacing them. It isn't
hard, You strip the petals with the sepals on and pollinate the pistel of
the other plant with the anthers of the other plant which you have
protrouded by bending the petals back. You can smear a lot of pollen on and
usually you will get at least a dozen seeds.

My neighbor Connie Hansen grew about fifty and I think 11 had the
perfection of form to be showplants. She sold the collection to Russell
Graham of Salem OR: perhaps someone has the address?
