Good question, Sue. Everyone has their own "excuse" for not registering their
plants. Some don't care, some don't want to pay the money, some don't see the
need, some (such as myself) don't seem to be able to get it together to get it
done. I find it tough to gather all the data and take all the necessary
photos when I can't keep up with everything else that must be done. But don't
be fooled into think that if a hosta is registered, it's a good hosta. There
are dogs as well as excellent hostas on both sides of the registration table.
Registered or not, many hostas can be difficult/impossible to id if not
properly named. I'll make a deal with you. If you come out, gather all the
data and photographs for me, I'll give you a container of each hosta I need to
get registered. Deal?
