Anelle, do you really think those Malva babies will be in danger?  I grow
it here in my zone 4 garden, where it self-seeds abundantly.  The babies
show up throughout the growing season, and the younger ones come through
the winter just fine.  We do not have dependable snow cover here.  It's
freeze/thaw-freeze/thaw throughout the winter.
