Re: Pulmonaria questions

Hi Cindy and all,

Just heard Tony Avent talk at NEW ENGLAND GROWS last Fri. Tony is PLANTS
DELIGHT out of NC. He gets very excited about most every slide he shows. A
true plant collector! I love this one, Look at that!, Would you take a
look, Can you imagine...etc

What he mentioned about pulmanarias I found interesting. Says that the
spots on ones like Mrs. Moon are cells exploding inside, and that causes the
gray - not allowing them to take up chorophyll <?>. He then showed a slide
of a new pulmanaria, which was all gray, and said there must have been quite
an explosion/eruption of those cell on this one!

I grow cevennensis but it is too new to answer your questions. I purchased
it for its long flower stems.

RE:
Does anyone grow Pulmonaria longifolia cevennensis (or is it P. longifolia
var Cevennensis)? I'm reading that it's leaves are 28" long! How big of a
clump does it form? Do you like it?
