Nope - the real name is Fallopia japonica 'Variegata' -In the
polygonum family, it does not run like many polygonums --I've got in in
my catalog, along with the dwarf from of the plant, Fallopia japonica
var. compacta - The alternate name for this plant is Polygonum
cuspidatum var. compactum.
this is an outstanding plant - it can take full sun, and grow 3-4' (not
the dwarf form) - the variegation is outstanding --- and the plant
really adds structure to any border - it's fascinating t watch it as it
emerges in springtime with pink spear-like shoots.
