A few years back at Winter Scientific meeting of the Hosta Society I met a gentleman from Texas who ran a major nursery and was looking to find the "right" hosta for Texas.  Give him a call and I will bet he can help you...and tell him Jack from Wisconsin (we had Chinese dinner the Friday prior to the meeting) says "HI".
