I'm trying to think of a plan so that I might have a bog area, for the
cattails, without messing up a spot in the lawn. of course anywhere
you put a shovel or hoe in the lawn , or even sit a pot or whatever it
will make an ugly spot in the lawn, and my husband get "all bent out
of shape" you would not believe the time he spends on the lawn.
what do you think of the following idea. if I took a 50 gal barrel and
cut it off to the height of say 12 to 16 or 18 in. (would it be
better to bury it in the ground or just sit it on top of the ground)
maybe put some gravel in the bottom , plant the cattails in pots and
place them in the barrel will cattails grow in pots?
plants are not a problem here, they grow wild in almost every ditch in
MS..... a ditch with water. I would rather have a bog area, but
can't figure out where James would allow me to create a bog I'm
working on it , but in the mean time do you think this would work.
