They're definitely NOT owned by the same company. Lowe's has recently
purchased the Eagle chain in Washinton/Oregon and Home Depot is waging a manjor
expansion war against them. BTW, much the same holds true for Eagle: the
quality of the nursery varies extremely from store to store. Although they
seem to buy commodity plants from the same growers, the care varies a great
deal from store to store, and so then does the quality. Eagle from time to
time has some tremendous buys on perennial starts (like $1.87 for 4" pots), but
almost always very run of the mill stuff. But for space fillers, they're
great.
