Hi, Cindy.  In a raised bed, my plants were tall and spindly, flowered and
fruited substantially less, and were attacked by disease much more often
than those in traditional beds.  The addition of compost in spring and
mid-summer, along with heavier fertilization and daily watering during
hot/dry spells, has 'cured' the problem.
