Well, Gene, my experience has been that in book publishing, nothing comes
out without the author's OK. We may change his/her actual WORDS to smooth
out or clarify the meaning, but in all cases we do it with the approval of
the author. Of course, we are not faced with the deadlines that magazine
and newspaper people have to deal with. Maybe deadlines excuse their
actions. But regardless, assuming YOUR name is on the article, it would
seem to me that either they should publish what you write exactly as you
wrote it, or if they change it they MUST get your OK.
