Good morning, Cindy:
May I suggest getting in touch with your local agricultural extension. Ask
where you can have your soil analyzed.
The soil tests should inform you what the soil pH is and the amounts of what
needs to be added.
Recently, I took soil samples of my front and back yards as well as several
raised beds. I was informed of the pH, N-P-K levels, and what to do about
bring them into good growing conditions for my area.
The tests in MA are about $8.00 for each location. Well worth the money.
Hope this helps
Hostally,
Rich Horowitz Stoughton MA
