If you have white cottony spots you probably have mealy bug. This is difficult
to erradicate completly.Have to keep at it. You can use orthene or isotox.
Spray plant and put in dark plastic bag in shade for several hours. I have
also had luck spraying with full strength alcolol ond/or dabbing masses with
an alcohol swab. Under each mass are eggs. Alcohol does not seem to harm
plants. I put it in a spray bottle.
