Re: [SHADEGARDENS] Welcome

Hi Sherryl,

Thanks for the welcome. I live in Romney, Indiana zone 5 and I
bought my house about a year ago. Before that, my one acre lot was
part of a corn field. Therefore, I don't have much shade and for now
and the next few years, I'm limited to the north side of the house
and garage for my shade gardens. I've planted trees but they are
small and it'll be years before they give me enough shade to plant
the type and size of shade garden I'd really like to have.

I'm a big fan of the hostas and ferns. One of my goals is to have
every type and variety I can. I also love daylillies,
especially the ones with yellow blooms. Being on a limited budget, I
get as many starts, plants and seeds from friends and family as I
can. I've even done yard work for coworkers in exchange for a start
of something.

I am also a regular member on the gardens list. However, I am more
of the read and learn type with an occasional question or two. I
started classes to get my Master Gardeners certificate this past fall
but because of changes in my schedule, I was not able to complete the
classes. Another class will be offered in 2 years and I have high
hopes of returning at that time.
