I remember reading this before (silvery plants from Mediterranean area for
example) but this seems to be the opposite of hostas.  Why are we told to put
the blue hostas in the shade (generally speaking)?  Is it just to protect the
blue coating? doesn't the blue or gray color somehow protect plant from TOO
much sun in ALL plants? Not?
I've wondered about this for some time now so I'm glad you mentioned it.

Also, I'm not the Cindy Johnson that's married to Scott (I've a common name, I
guess) but 2 people from the Minnesota Hosta Society have also mentioned it to
me.
I've never seen their garden but would love to.

Next time you're up to see your dad, maybe we can get together?  I'd like
that. Shakopee is across town about 45 to 55 min southwest of White Bear Lake,
but maybe we can work something out.
