According to the RHS Index of Garden Plants, Persicaria filiformis is a synonym for Polygonum virginianum. Another name for this same plant is Tovara virginiana. You will find a description in the Newcomb Wildflower guide or in Peterson's guide. It is also listed in the very old Britton and Brown Illustrated Flora. Poor plant really has a name problem!
