Hi Everyone,
I have a question for the gardener's understanding of tool talk.
In writing an article (newletter writing) and using the the term pruning
shears, I have
comments that a perennial or flower gardener does not use pruning shears.
When I used secateurs I heard that smacked of affections.
When I tried garden cutters no-one knew what I was talking about. What word
or phrase is used that all will understand.
I alluded to using the ---------'s to cut down frosted plants with strong
stems, I do. I suggested trimming and shaping plants with ---------'s is far
easier than with garden scissors.
Suggstion was made to save your wonderful imported --------'s for woody plants
and purchase cheaper ones for the borders. How would you say it?
