Amazing how drought-resistant these things are. We had no rain to speak of
from June to early December and I did not water them. No problem! And they
are coming up all over the place from self-sown seed, especially

What pleasure in winter blooming plants if you are south of the ice belt. I
am VERY happy to read your comment on foetidissima being drought resistant. I
planted three of them last spring for just that purpose.
Anyone growing hellebores in zone 4 might like to tell us what survives and
prospers here other than orientalis.
